May 11—Congratulations to VHS Lady Indian senior Oschia Hodge who signed a letter of intent Monday for a scholarship to run track at Shorter University in Rome, Ga.
“It means so much to me and I am thankful for this opportunity to continue my track career and get an education at the same time. They have a pre-physical therapy program at Shorter that I want to get into and hopefully get a master's degree one day.” Hodge said.
Oschia’s father Muriel Bell said, “I am very proud of her. She has worked very hard to get to where she is today including academically. One thing I can say about her is that despite injury with discipline, desire, determination and hard work you can do anything.”
“Two years ago Oschia told me that this was her dream. She did everything she needed to do to get to this point. She is a great student athlete with a 3.9 GPA. She worked twice as hard on the track and I am very proud of her and glad that this day came.” VHS Lady Indians Track Coach Grady Hart Jr. said.
