Vidalia High School Lady Indian Maci Johnson signed a letter of intent for a scholarship to play softball next year for the Cleveland State Cougars in Cleveland, Tennessee. Johnson was also selected last week as a first team All-Region player for her speed and defensive skills.
“I really liked the school and the coaches and what they had to offer. It wasn’t too big or too small. I have family there and it just felt like home to me. I also get the opportunity to continue my education and major in physical therapy. I want to thank Mike Robins and all of my coaches over the years and my family for all that they have done.” Johnson said.
“I am very proud of Maci. She was the energy for our team and brought a lot to every game. She will be an asset to Cleveland State. It is great that she is getting this opportunity to further her skills, they are some of the best that I have seen.” VHS Head Coach Brad Thompson said.
“We are very proud of Maci and excited for her. To get a call from a school who wants her to can and play ball is just wonderful. It is in Tennessee, but I have a sister that lives eight miles from the campus and I’m sure we will get up there to see her play. She has worked very hard on the field and in the classroom and now it is paying off.” Marcy Johnson said.
