Named AA Player of the Year
Vidalia High School senior Destiny McRae has signed a letter of intent for a scholarship to play softball at the next level next year for the Hawks at South Georgia State College in Douglas.
“It wasn’t a hard decision I liked the campus and they have a great program at South Georgia. I am really looking forward to next year and being a part of team.” McRae said.
This week McRae was also named GACA Class AA Softball Player of the Year.
“I was in total shock when Coach Thompson told me. I am honored and it means a lot to me to be named the AA Player of the Year.” McRae stated.
VHS Head Coach Brad Thompson said, “Destiny has been an outstanding player for us since the day she can on campus. She probably has the best hand and eye coordination of any player that I have ever coached, and that is saying a lot because I have had some good ones. Destiny was also a unanimous vote for the AA Player of the Year Award. She is so lethal at the plate and so hard for teams to pitch around. She is very deserving of the award.”
“She has been working hard since she was a little girl and now that hard work is paying off. We are very proud of her and can’t wait for her to go to South Georgia State College.” Robert McRae stated.
