April 8—The VHS Indians Soccer teams will both play for the Region 2AA Championship this Friday at Buck Cravey Field starting with the Lady Indians match against St. Vincent’s at 5:30PM. The Lady Indians are 15-0 and ranked number one in the state. The Lady Indians defeated Woodville-Tompkins last Thursday 10-0.

The Indians defeated Woodville-Tompkins 4-3 last Thursday in Savannah and are 13-3 overall and 7-1 in region games. The Indians will face the Wolverines again for the region title this Friday after the girl’s game.

“Coach Josh Harrell said, “We got down early 1-0 to a very talented team. We controlled the ball most of the evening but couldn’t capitalize on the early opportunities in the first half. We tied the match up at the beginning of the second half but gave up two back to back goals shortly after. The guys rallied and brought the game back to a 3-3 tie. I am proud of how we fought back to score three unanswered goals to win the match. I am proud of this group of competitors. They have kept fighting no matter the circumstances and have given themselves an opportunity to bring the region championship to Vidalia.”
