The Vidalia High School Chapter of NHS is an academic-based organization composed of students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades who maintain a cumulative average of at least 93 and meet the College Prep rigor standards as required by the Georgia Department of Education.
Members are expected to uphold and exemplify the core values of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Currently, VHS has approximately 90 active NHS members.
Membership & Eligibility
National Honor Society (NHS) membership is a distinction that recognizes students for their excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Academic Standing
Students must be in grades 10–12 and maintain a minimal cumulative average of 93.
Rigor Requirements
Must meet the state’s College Prep rigor requirements for academic excellence.
Character & Service
Demonstrate strong leadership, integrity, and a consistent commitment to service.
Communication
Inducted members must join the Google Classroom for announcements (No longer using Remind).
Activities &
Service Projects
NHS members at VHS engage in monthly service projects and participate in regular meetings to support our local community.
A recent example includes our February initiative, where members assembled "Blessing Bags" for the Refuge Domestic Violence Shelter and the Jesus Inn.
Members are encouraged to bring their personal ideas for service into the planning process to meet evolving community needs.
